Elite Clinic was founded in 2001, born from Dr Andrei Sõritsa’s unwavering belief that everyone deserves the best possible medical care.
“When a person faces a health issue and seeks help, they should be able to turn to us — because I have invited only the top specialists in their
fields to work here,” shares the esteemed gynecologist and one of Estonia’s leading infertility specialists, describing a principle that guides his
leadership.
Although today the clinic offers a wide range of specialist consultations, surgical procedures, and supportive treatments, the heart
of its mission remains women’s health — including gynecological diagnostics, infertility treatment, and pregnancy care.
A Pioneer in Estonia
Inspired by IVF specialists in neighboring Finland and later trained at the University of Kiel in Germany — then a global center for
laparoscopic surgery in infertility care — Dr Sõritsa led the launch of Estonia’s first IVF laboratory in 1993. Just two years later, Estonia
and the entire Baltic region welcomed their first “test tube baby” thanks to the clinic’s determined teamwork.
The 1990s were a challenging period for medicine in Estonia, and the only viable way to bring high-quality infertility treatment to life was
to found a private clinic. Thus, Tähe Private Clinic opened in Tartu in 1998, followed three years later by Elite Clinic — now with its own
maternity ward to meet growing patient demand.
Quality Is the Foundation
“With IVF, simply transferring an embryo is often not enough,” says Dr Sõritsa, drawing from decades of experience.
“It’s just as important that the uterus accepts the embryo — and that the body functions as a whole.” This comprehensive, whole-person approach brought many complex cases to Elite Clinic. In turn, this deepened the team’s knowledge and strengthened its expertise. “Today, we have both the know-how and the technology to handle even the most challenging situations,” he affirms.
The clinic’s quality and results have been widely recognized: Elite was named Tartu’s top life science and healthcare enterprise in both 2013
and 2018 and has held international ISO certification in quality management since 2011.
A Clinic with Soul
„“You can pray anywhere — but to truly meet God, you go to church,” said a priest to Dr Sõritsa once at the Vatican, explaining why churches were built so magnificently. That moment shaped Dr Sõritsa’s view of clinic design. “Just as the church is a sacred meeting place, the clinic is where people come to meet their doctor.”
While any good doctor can work in any room, he believes beautiful artwork, comfort, and thoughtful design create a calming and supportive
environment — especially for patients. Elite Clinic’s luxurious building and lush garden have been honored multiple times by the City of Tartu
and even by the President of Estonia (2001, 2004, 2007, 2013, 2017).
Truly Personalized Care
Personalized treatment is a non-negotiable value at Elite Clinic.
“It’s not a system that heals people — it’s the doctor,” says Dr Sõritsa, who brings over 30 years of experience to each consultation. It’s not uncommon for his patients to have his phone number — and permission to call at any hour if something is truly worrying them. “Yes, personalized care is more expensive — but it’s also psychologically far more effective,” he notes.
A Family Affair
Dr Sõritsa emphasizes that Elite Clinic would not be what it is today without his family. His son, Dr Deniss Sõritsa, has followed in his
footsteps for nearly 20 years, with extensive experience in infertility care, prenatal ultrasound, and gynecologic surgery. Several other family
members are also actively involved in the clinic’s daily operations, always ready to help — no matter the time. “A family-run business is, in my opinion, the most reliable model,” he says. “I didn’t invent this — fathers and sons working together is a tradition
across Europe and America.”
Team, Drive, and Results
“Infertility treatment is a team effort,” says Dr Sõritsa, grateful for his long-standing team — from doctors to nurses to lab staff, some of
whom he’s worked with for over 25 years. “We have the team, the drive, and the results.”
And while Tartu may be a smaller city, it’s a historic university town — one where world-class medical education has been part of its fabric for
centuries. Most of Elite’s doctors are Tartu-trained and continue to invest in lifelong learning.
“We’ve had a great education — and we keep building on it,” Dr Sõritsa proudly adds.
He also highlights Tartu’s green surroundings as a surprising advantage: “You could say our embryos grow in excellent conditions,” he jokes,
“And the children born through our care — more than 2,500 to date — are truly the most beautiful!”

Qualified Staff
Elite Clinic employs only experienced specialists with long-term professional backgrounds, the required education, and relevant specialization. All our doctors have a minimum of 15 years of clinical experience. Staff working in the laboratory and surgical departments must have at least 10 years of experience to join the team. Our personnel continuously update their knowledge through both international and local training programs.

Elite Private Clinic, founded in 2001, is a continuously growing healthcare provider with nearly 100 employees. Our mission is to ensure
the health and happiness of our patients, with a significant part of our work dedicated to supporting and treating families struggling with
infertility.
Elite Clinic has twice been recognized as Tartu’s top medical and life sciences company. It has also received multiple awards from medical
students as an attractive employer. Our founder and director, Dr Andrei Sõritsa, is an internationally respected infertility specialist.
We welcome specialists from various fields to join our team — including medical doctors, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, and other
healthcare professionals. Every member of our patient care team is a highly qualified expert with years of experience and the necessary
professional education.
Team
The team at Elite Clinic is close-knit and friendly, with very little staff turnover. Many of our employees have been with the clinic since
its early years.
We celebrate various special occasions together, and twice a year we organize traditional outings and events. Every year, we host a Christmas
party for our employees’ children. To support their development, children of our staff are also eligible for scholarships.
Environment
In addition to a positive internal atmosphere, our physical environment also sets us apart from a typical medical facility. Thanks to our unique interior design, we are often compared to a hotel or a spa. Both staff and patients benefit from free parking, and the windows overlook an award-winning garden.
We do not operate on public holidays or Sundays, ensuring our employees have time for life outside of work as well.
