Dr. Andrei Sõritsa

Andrei Sõritsa is the founder and CEO of Tähe Private Clinic and Elite Private Clinic. He is the first gynecologist in Estonia and the Baltic States to begin infertility treatment. Andrei Sõritsa is the responsible specialist at Elite Clinic for conducting assisted reproduction procedures and for the overall management of the organization.

In 1984, Andrei Sõritsa graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu, and in 1990, he earned his doctoral degree at the Belarusian State Medical Institute in Minsk. He has pursued further training in more than 25 countries. Sõritsa has been a speaker at numerous international and domestic conferences.

Under his guidance, Estonia’s first in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure was performed in Tartu in 1994, resulting in the birth of the Baltic States’ first so-called “test-tube baby” in June 1995. In 1997, he launched a charitable campaign called “A Child for Every Family,” which led to the birth of nearly 200 children. He has also been a member of the Hope foundation, which has financed infertility treatment for families.

He has served as a lecturer in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tartu’s Faculty of Medicine.

Andrei Sõritsa’s research areas include the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, assisted reproductive technologies (such as IVF and egg donation), diagnostic methods in gynecology, and perinatology.

He is also actively involved in gynecological surgery, performing procedures such as laparoscopy, laparotomy, hysteroscopy, ovarian puncture, conization, curettage, vaginal plastic surgery, in vitro activation, and pregnancy termination.

Sõritsa is a co-author of the national clinical guidelines for the treatment of sexually transmitted infections. He also holds certification required for participation in clinical studies.

For his contributions, Andrei Sõritsa has been awarded the Order of the Red Cross, 2nd Class by the Republic of Estonia.
