Hans Jaagup Luuk

Hans Jaagup Luuk graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu in 2018. He then continued his training in a psychiatry residency program, which he completed in 2022. He has worked both in inpatient psychiatric departments and in outpatient care settings.

Dr Luuk regularly attends various professional trainings and conferences, including the clinical conferences of the Psychiatry Clinic of Tartu University Hospital, the autumn conferences of the Psychiatry Clinic of the North Estonia Medical Centre, and events organized by the Estonian Psychiatric Association. During his residency, he completed an introductory course in family therapy, basic training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and an introductory course in cognitive-behavioral therapy. He also actively keeps up to date with professional literature.

His primary clinical interests lie in mood and anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, personality disorders, and sleep disorders. In his practice, Hans Jaagup Luuk places great importance on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with the patient. Alongside pharmacological treatment, he emphasizes the value of psychosocial interventions and various self-help strategies.

Dr Luuk is a member of the Estonian Psychiatric Association and the Estonian Medical Association.

In his free time, he enjoys engaging in music and sports.

He is fluent in Estonian and English.
